The Bello Collective
A newsletter and publication about podcasts that grew from a one-person Tinyletter project to one of the leading independent publications about the audio industry.
My personal newsletter, The Podcast Broadcast, was featured in Vice i-D's Ten email newsletters written by cool women, Creative Mornings' Out of the Ordinary Newsletters, The Culture Trip's 10 Indispensable Newsletters for New Yorkers, and on a 99% Invisible episode. Press/interviews: National Federation of Community Broadcasters; Audacity & Audio's The 20 in their 20s of Podcasting, and 'broadcast' month of The Art Olympics.
The Bello Collective has been cited in the Columbia Journalism Review, The Washington Post, and more. Our flagship feature, the Bello 100, is a collaborative list of 100 great pieces of audio storytelling from the year.
I was the founding editor (and then co-editor) from 2014-18. In 2018, I stepped down and it became an independently-run publication with a team of talented editors and writers. The Bello Collective stopped publishing in 2021; here’s a look back at how it contributed to the podcast and audio storytelling industry.
